Thermal expansion coefficient

The thermal expansion coefficient, \(\alpha\) is given by
\[\alpha = \frac{1}{V} \left. \frac{\partial V}{\partial T} \right\vert_p\]
where \(V\) is the volume, \(T\) is the temperature and \(p\) is the pressure.
