The soft-core Lennard-Jones model is given by
\[ \Phi_{12}(a,r) = 4 \epsilon \left[ \frac{\sigma^{2nm}}{(a\sigma^n+r^n)^{2m}} - \frac{\sigma^{nm}}{(a\sigma^n+r^n)^{m}} \right] \]
