Rankine equation of state

The Rankine equation of state ^[1] is given by (this equation needs to be checked):

pv=RT-{\frac {a}{Tv}}

where $a$ is a constant, $v$ is the volume, $p$ is the pressure, $T$ is the temperature and $R$ is the molar gas constant.
