The Dieterici equation of state [1] is given by

p=RTv−be−a/RTv

where (Eq. 8 in [2]):

a=4R2Tc2Pce2

and

b=RTcPce2

where p is the pressure, T is the temperature and R is the molar gas constant. Tc is the critical temperature and Pc is the pressure at the critical point.

Sadus modification

Sadus [3] proposed replacing the repulsive section of the Dieterici equation with the Carnahan-Starling equation of state, resulting in (Eq. 5):

p=RTv1+η+η2−η3(1−η)3e−a/RTv

where η=b/4v is the packing fraction.
