The Trotter formula is given by

e^{-\beta (H_{0}+V)}=\lim _{n\rightarrow \infty }(e^{-\beta H_{0}/n}e^{-\beta V/n})^{n}

where $H_{0}$ and $V$ are self-adjoint operators.
